88 nabbed for violating RMCO - Ismail Sabri
Ismail Sabri said a total of 18,401 individuals have returned to Malaysia through the international border entrance and placed under quarantine at 68 hotels and five public training institutes (ILA), from July 24 until yesterday - Foto BERNAMA
A total of 88 individuals were arrested yesterday for breaching the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said out of the total of those detained, 84 were issued compound fines while four individuals were remanded.
"Among the offences committed were failure to provide equipment to register the entry and exit of customers (31 cases), not wearing a face mask (15 cases) and attending a private party (32 cases)," he said in a statement on RMCO developments today.
During the same period, Ismail Sabri said, a total of 64,658 inspections were conducted to monitor and enforce compliance with the RMCO standard operating procedure (SOP).
He said police also conducted 434 checks on individuals undergoing the compulsory 14-day home quarantine and all were found to have complied with the prescribed SOP.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said a total of 18,401 individuals have returned to Malaysia through the international border entrance and placed under quarantine at 68 hotels and five public training institutes (ILA), from July 24 until yesterday.
Of the total, 7,965 individuals are undergoing mandatory quarantine, 56 individuals were sent to hospitals for treatment and 10,380 were discharged.
He said police mounted 62 roadblocks nationwide under Op Benteng yesterday and inspected 25,503 vehicles to curb the entry of illegal immigrants, especially along rat trails. However, no arrests were made.
