Abandoned baby boy found in Shah Alam surau compound

A newborn baby boy was found in the compound of a surau in Jalan Platinum, Section 7 here, early this morning.
A police spokesman said the baby weighing 3.15 kg was found by members of the public wrapped in a blanket at about 2am.
"The infant with its umbilical cord attached is believed to have been born between three to four hours earlier," he told Bernama today.
Shah Alam police chief ACP Azisman Alias when contacted confirmed receiving a report on the discovery.
"The baby is in healthy condition in Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang. Investigations are ongoing to detect the person who abandoned the baby."
Members of the public with information on the baby can contact the nearest police station to assist investigation.
