Abdul Ghapur tells BN component leaders stay OT of Kalabakan Umno polls

Kalabakan Umno chief Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh today called on leaders of component parties of Barisan Nasional (BN) in Kalabakan not to interfere in Kalabakan Umno's upcoming polls. The Member of Parliament for Kalabakan Abdul Ghapur said the election of office bearers for the division was its members to decide without the involvement of outsiders. It is learnt that there are some BN component leaders (in Kalabakan) who are trying to influence Kalabakan Umno members to support certain individuals in lobbying for leadership posts at the branch and division levels. We hope this will be stopped because the polls are an internal matter for Kalabakan Umno and have nothing to do with BN component parties," he said in a statement here today. He added that such interference could affect the existing good relationship between Kalabakan Umno and the components. Abdul Ghapur also urged Kalabakan Umno leaders and members not to allow themselve to be used by others and stay true to the party's cause.
