DR MAHATHIR: The Selangor political crisis should not be prolonged
All parties must accept Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's choice for Selangor Menteri Besar to avoid a prolonged political crisis, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed said.
Should the Selangor State Legislative Assembly propose and pass a 'motion of no confidence' against the new MB, the political dilemma in the state would remain a deadlock, he said.
He said this to the media after launching a mixed development project 'Shapadu Putrajaya Haven' here today.
The swearing in of the new Selangor menteri besar to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will be held tomorrow at Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
The Sultan's private secretary Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani had earlier said that the name of the new menteri besar would be announced today.
