A police report has been lodged against four individuals believed to be behind the civil lawsuit filed by the United States (US) Department of Justice (DoJ) in relation to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Pertubuhan Suara Rakyat Marhaen Malaysia (SUARA) adviser Zamil Ibrahim said the four individuals are bent on running down the country’s leadership and to influence the people to reject the government in the next general election.
"I am here to lodge a report against these individuals who conspire with those in DoJ to poison the minds of the people by spreading lies that are fabricated with the aim to topple the government.
“They are the same individuals behind the issue of purchase of submarines in the last general general election. This time, they fabricate a story that 1MDB money was stolen,” he told reporters after lodging the police report at Kota Setar police station, here today.
The DoJ had filed a civil law suit with the aim to recover assets worth US$540 million, allegedly embezzled from 1MDB.
