Action to be taken on those who spoil police-MACC relations - Deputy IGP

NOOR RASHID: Stern action awaited those who try to do that to both the enforcement agencies.
Police will not hesitate to take action against anyone who try to spoil its good relations with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said stern action awaited those who try to do that to both the enforcement agencies.
"I want to remind all parties not to take this opportunity to spoil the good relations between the police and the MACC either through cyber space or any other broadcast," he said today.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the National Level of the 17th Cadet Police Corps Camp, here which was also attended by Kedah Police Chief Datuk Zamri Yahya.
Noor Rashid was commenting on the actions of several parties who attempted to spoil the good relations between the police and the MACC through reports on the social media.
On efforts by the police to cripple the activities of the IS terrorist group in the country, Noor Rashid said police had arrested about 100 persons who were connected with the group.
He said continuous intelligence work had almost crippled the group's activities to recruit more people in this country.
He added that investigations showed that the social media was the main communications medium which influenced people in this country to join the terrorist group in Syria.
On human trafficking activities in the areas along the national borders, he said to date, there was no proof that these activities existed but the police would continue monitoring the situation.
The Terengganu contingent continued to emerge as the overall winner for the camp this year.
