Activist arrested for 'threatening' IGP on Twitter

An activist of the Jingga 13 non-governmental organisation (NGO), Irwan Yahya has been arrested following a posting on Twitter which was claimed to have threatened the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
According to Jingga 13 chief coordinator, Fariz Musa, Irwan was arrested at 11.40pm on Tuesday at his residence before being taken to the Banting police headquarters.
“He was arrested for his posting on Twitter...from Banting IPD, he was taken by the Bukit Aman D5 team to the Dang Wangi IPD at around 1pm,” said Fariz when contacted by Astro AWANI today.
Irwan a secretariat member of Jingga 13 on Saturday had posted a posting threatening to “teach the IGP to follow the ways of the younger generation”.
He also told the IGP to be ‘ready’ with any eventual action.
Irwan’s postings also received various remarks from netizens on the social media platform.
