The actual cause of the mudslide at KM52.4 Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway yesterday is expected to be known at the latest in another two weeks.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadhillah Yusof said the report on the incident would be prepared by a team of experts after they completed their detailed investigation.
"Let's wait for our experts to finish their investigation, it involves an area of two kilometres into the forest, so it may take up to two weeks to prepare the documentation," he told reporters after monitoring the cleaning up operation at the scene before making aerial survey today.
The mudslide near Lentang-Bukit Tinggi yesterday had caused traffic to be brought to a standstill, but no casualty or injury was reported.
Work to clear up debris and mud off the expressway is still ongoing and all motorists have been asked to use alternative roads.
