Adnan will not contest for Umno supreme council posts

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob has confirmed that he would not contest in any of the Umno Supreme Council posts at the next national party polls. However, he would defend his position as Bentong divisional head. Adnan who is also Pahang Umno chairman said he would not stop other leaders including from the Wanita, Pemuda and Puteri wings to join the race. "I want to focus on empowering Pahang Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) in preparation for the next general election," he told reporters at an Aidilfitri gathering with local graduate council members at Kompleks Yayasan Pahang here today. Meanwhile, he said the state Umno would hold more discussions with representatives of the Chinese, Indian and Orang Asli communities to get their feedback on empowering the party.
