KUALA LUMPUR:Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah today expressed appreciation to all Members of the Dewan Rakyat who have given their support to pass the 2021 Budget at the sitting earlier today.
Al-Sultan Abdullah also welcomed the support given for the approval of the 2021 Budget to ensure the well-being and survival of the people as well as the economic recovery of the country affected by the outbreak of COVID-19.
His Majesty's appreciation was conveyed in a statement through Istana Negara's Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, here on Thursday.
His Majesty also expressed his appreciation to the Members of the Dewan Rakyat who have supported His Majesty's advice on 28 October 2020 to give support for the wellbeing and security of the people and the welfare of the country.
"Indeed, apart from the country's economic recovery and people's survival, the 2021 Budget is very important for the government and the authorities, especially frontline staff, to continue policies and efforts to curb and address the COVID-19 pandemic threat.
"As the Head of State, Al-Sultan Abdullah has great respect for every political party registered in the country.
"His Majesty also appreciates the role and trust entrusted to the Members of the Dewan Rakyat in defending the welfare of the people," the statement said.
In this regard, Al-Sultan Abdullah greatly appreciates the commitment and spirit of consensus and cooperation of each party because it is very important to maintain the momentum of economic recovery for the common good.
"Al-Sultan Abdullah also expressed full confidence in the government's ability to lead the country's administration at a time when the country is being tested by various crises," the statement said.
