Agong expresses condolences to UiTM pro-chancellor's family

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed his condolences to the family members of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Arshad who passed away today.
In a statement issued via Istana Negara's Facebook page, His Majesty also expressed his sadness over Abdul Rahman's passing and hoped that the latter's family would remain patient and strong in facing the challenge.
"His Majesty prays that his soul is showered with blessings from Allah SWT and placed among the righteous.
"His Majesty, as the Chancellor of UiTM, is very appreciative of the services and contribution of the late (Abdul Rahman) to UiTM, as well as national education. Al-Sultan Abdullah also describes the latter's passing as a great loss to the country," said the statement.
Abdul Rahman, who was appointed as the pro-chancellor of UiTM on Dec 15, 2002, died due to old age today morning at his residence in Taman Ampang Utama, Ampang near here.
He was 83. He leaves behind his wife, Puan Sri Noor Hayati Mohamed.
