KUALA LUMPUR:Whatever decision of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah after the meeting with the Chairman of Pakatan Harapan, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will reflect the interests of the people.
Political analyst, Prof Dr Sivamurugan Pandian said it revolves around three basic things, namely the politics of numbers, loyalty to the party and leaders and personalities involved.
"The Agong will make the best decision for the people so that the mandate will reflect on what happened today, the choice to the most challenging General Election and of course the decision that leads in that direction is one of the challenging decisions.
"These are some of the (options) that the Agong can do, including rejecting what Anwar brought if His Majesty has doubts.
"Maybe (the list) is there on September 23, maybe now it is not there anymore," he said during a Skype conference on Tuesday.
Anwar claimed to have the support of more than 120 MPs to form a new government to replace the Perikatan Nasional.
In a special press conference today, the Port Dickson MP said he had presented evidence in the form of statutory declarations and confirmation of the relevant party leaders to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The Istana Negara statement, on the other hand, informed that Anwar had only submitted the number of MPs who were alleged to support him.
However, he did not submit a list of names of MPs to strengthen the allegation.
