Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has ordered Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar to take action against controversial blogger Alvin Tan.
He also described Tan's recent act which was made viral on social media, as very rude and needs to be taught a lesson.
"I asked the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) to use whatever power there is to bring him (Alvin) to justice.
"Maybe he think he can do whatever he wants abroad. Maybe he can get away with the (Malaysian) law, but ethics must be respected," said Ahmad Zahid who is also the Deputy Prime Minister.
Ahmad Zahid was speaking at the Home Ministry's 2015 Innovation Day here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Khalid who was also at the event, reminded the public to not highlight Tan's every actions until it becomes viral and give him the publicity that he wants.
“Let him be. Stop giving this ‘beruk’ (ape) the publicity. The more you give, the more he enjoys it. That is what he wants,” said Khalid.
