Air quality improves, only five areas with unhealthy API

The air quality nationwide has improved as of 1 pm with most of the areas showing a decline in the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading compared from 9 am today.
According to the Department of Environment (DOE), only five areas still registered unhealthy API reading in Port Klang (125); Shah Alam (116); Banting (110); Pasir Gudang, Johor (108) and Petaling Jaya (105).
Two areas remained at healthy level, namely ILP Miri (47) and Limbang (45) in Sarawak.
Meanwhile 45 other areas registered moderate API reading.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 300 and above, hazardous.
