Low-cost airline, AirAsia has announced it is working together with Blue Bird taxi company to provide transportation from the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to the next destination, reported Antara news agency.
"With the 'airport and transfer to city' service, AirAsia passengers do not have to wait long at the airport to get a taxi heading for their next destination," said Director of Business AirAsia Indonesia, Andy Adrian Febryanto at the launch of the new service in Jakarta on Monday.
The taxi service will use an MPV type car with a capacity of four passengers. It is operated by Golden Bord, a subsidiary of Blue Bird Group Holdings.
Through the service, passengers can book a taxi whenever they purchase tickets with AirAsia. The fare is set by the destination zone between Rp200,000 and Rp500,000 including toll rates.
According to Andy, the government had been testing the service since May 16 and the response has been very encouraging. For the initial phase, the service is only available to Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.
President Director of Blue Bird Group Holdings, Noni Purnomo hopes that the service will be extended to other major cities in Indonesia where AirAsia services. Blue Bird offers its services in 13 major cities in Indonesia.
