KANGAR: The Malaysian Border Security Agency (Aksem) seized firecrackers and fireworks worth RM12,299 at Jalan Arau - Kodiang, Guar Sanji, Arau yesterday.
Perlis Aksem commander DSP Azizan Saman said the seizure was made at a shop building in the area at about 5.40 pm following a tip-off.
Following checks conducted at the premises, Aksem found seven boxes of firecrackers and fireworks, valued at RM12,299, including tax, he said in a statement today.
A 24-year-old local man was arrested to facilitate investigation, he said, adding that the case had been handed over to the Arau police for further action.
