Alert weather warning with heavy rain in Perlis, Kedah and Penang

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a yellow alert weather warning with forecast of heavy rain in Perlis, Kedah and Penang from today until tomorrow.

MetMalaysia in a statement issued at 4 pm said that the areas involved in Kedah are Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang and Kuala Muda.

No specific area was given for Perlis and Penang.

It said the wind from the northwest is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds that could cause floods in the low-lying areas.
