Army veteran Mohd Ali Baharom or Ali Tinju will be sacked from the Malaysia Armed Forces Veteran Association (PVATM) following his action of regularly creating controversies.
PVATM vice-president, Lieutenant Commander (R) Jayah Said said the decision was made after finding Ali Tinju's antics had tarnished the image of the association.
"We have gathered strong evidence to act against Ali Tinju soon. We do not want PVATM's good name to be smeared by his irresponsible acts which also flout the constitution and administrative regulations of the association," he told a media conference here, today.
Jayah, who is also Perak PVATM president, said Ali Tinju often did things which were contrary to the culture, ethic and pure values of PVATM.
Mohd Ali was remanded two days from yesterday as he was believed to have issued a seditious statement via WhatsApp over an incident at the Kota Raya Complex, on Friday.
Nevertheless, he was freed on police bail today.
He had triggered controversies on several occasions in the past including the 'butt exercises' in front of the home of Bersih joint chairman Datuk S. Ambiga and a road demonstration during the Low Yat incident.
PVATM is the biggest ATM veteran association with 160,000 members and is now headed by former ATM chief Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor.
