The Special Ministerial Meeting has agreed to allow all public transport including buses, light rail trains, ferries and aircraft to operate at full capacity.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said all the services were also allowed to operate as usual without any time limit.
However, he said the public had to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) such as wearing face masks, downloading MySejahtera applications and using disinfectants.
"For those who allow passengers to stand, the passengers need to practise self-distancing," he told a media conference here on Thursday.
The following are the SOPs prescribed for public transport:
Express buses
- Express bus operators need to register their passengers through the MySejahtera app or manually.
- Passengers including express bus drivers need to wear face masks at all times.
- Bus operators must check the body temperature of the passengers before boarding the bus and provide a face mask for those who do not have one and sanitize buses after each trip.
Public buses, ferries, trains and light rail trains
- For those who allow passengers to stand, passengers themselves have to practise self-social distancing.
- SOPs needs to be adhered to at all times including wearing a face mask, downloading MySejahtera app and using hand sanitiser.
Planes
- Passenger temperature must be recorded in advance and passengers are required to wear a face mask.
