Chomel Mohamad, 48, wife of alleged terrorist Yazid Sufaat was still in shock over her husband's arrest on Thursday.
Met by reporters at the compound of the Ampang Magistrate's Court on Friday where Yazid, 49, and Halimah Hussein, 52, had been earlier charged with inciting terrorist acts to threaten the public in Syria last year, said she found it hard to believe that he was still involved in terrorism activities.
Incidentally, Yazid was detained for seven years under the Internal Security Act (ISA) after being arrested in 2001 for his alleged connection with the Jemmah Islamiyah militant group.
"I know my husband's every move, because we have been operating the foodstall at the court complex in Jalan Duta here together everyday from 7.30am until 4pm," she said.
Yazid and Halimah were charged under Section 130G (a) of the Penal Code (Act 574) read with Section 109 of the same Code, which carries a maximum 30 years' jail and a fine upon conviction.
Chomel, who was dressed in black, also stressed that her husband never knew Mohd Noor Fikrie Abd Kahar, 26, the Malaysian man who was shot dead by Philippine police in Davao last December.
The mother of four said after her husband's arrest last night, police raided their home at Taman Bukit Ampang and took away religious books, a computer and a handphone.
Yazid is the first to be charged under the amended Penal Act following the repeal of the Internal Security Act on July 31, 2012.
