The reboot will feature a new generation of parapsychologists, but with a twist. Ghostbusters will be an all-girls team.

Both director and writer of The Heat join the reboot of the supernatural comedy film. The team behind The Heat are exactly who Sony has called to take the wheels on what used to be known as Ghostbusters 3. I say used to be, because Paul Feig has spoken more about his intent with the franchise, and the information he has delivered is rather eye opening into what we'll be seeing in the future.

As for Bill Murray, we already know he's comfortable with an all-female reboot of Ghostbusters. Part of that reason is probably that he's a laid back, progressive fellow who thinks that it'd be quite humorous, so long as the script is right and the casting fits.

As for who will be cast as the famous ghost catchers, all Paul had to say was this:

He revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "My favourite thing to do is work with funny women... And then I thought, well, what if we just make it new? It’s not coming into the world that existed before."

Hilarious women. So, considering Paul and Katie's credits, is it too much to be hopeful that these women will comprise of Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Bridesmaids), Sandra Bullock (The Heat) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) and possibly even Emma Stone (Zombieland)! Those cast in roles for the highly anticipated new Ghostbusters will have big shoes to fill.
