Alor Setar railway station to be closed on Jan 29
The Alor Setar railway station in Jalan Stesen Keretapi here will cease operations from 12 midnight of Jan 29.
According to a statement from MMC Gamuda JV Sdn Bhd, the company involved in the Ipoh-Padang Besar double-tracking project said the closure was to facilitate construction work to be carried out.
The statement said Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) had build a temporary station at Jalan Tanjung Bendahara, just opposite the old station.
The temporary station would start operations on Jan 29.
