Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president Datuk Seri Anifah Aman has slammed a Warisan leader for allegedly saying that the incursion by terrorists in Kampung Tanduo, Ladah Datu, in 2013 was a farce.
The former foreign minister said the statement was a betrayal to Sabah and an insult to the country’s security forces and their families as 10 Malaysian security personnel were killed in the incident.
“During the incident in Tanduo, Lahad Datu in 2013, a total of 235 terrorists landed on Sabah soil from Pulau Simunul in the Philippines. Ten members of the Malaysian security forces were killed in the clashes, including several ambushes.
“(Yet) the Warisan leader described their sacrifice as a ‘sandiwara’ (sham)," Anifah said in a statement today.
He was commenting on a video from a Sabah election ceramah by the Warisan leader which has gone viral on social media. The 33-minute recording allegedly shows the leader belittling the Malaysian security forces in the incident.
“Where is the Warisan leader’s sense of respect for Malaysian security personnel, who have sacrificed their lives to defend the sovereignty of Sabah?” Anifah said, adding that Warisan should be ashamed over the statement.
