Individuals or parties with information related to the inhumane incident of burning a kitten using petrol are asked to come forward to assist in the investigation.
According to the President of the Animal Association of Malaysia (Animal Malaysia), Arie Dwi Andika, his side has received incomplete information that the incident happened in Pahang but an investigation is being carried out to determine whether the incident really happened in this country.
"Animal Malaysia is appealing for complete information with a police report until the perpetrator is arrested, prosecuted in court and sentenced to the maximum for the cruelty of killing this innocent kitten if it is true that this happened in this country and the perpetrator is in Malaysia.
"Therefore, Animal Malaysia has increased the reward from RM3,000 to RM10,000 for anyone who can confirm the incident of a kitten suspected to be splashed with petrol before being burned using a lighter," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He called on anyone with information to come forward to help with the investigation through the WhatsApp application at 011 20901097.
Earlier, Animal Malaysia in a 45-second video showed a kitten in a wet state possibly splashed with petrol.
An individual who was also believed to have recorded the video then lit a lighter before burning the unfortunate kitten.
The kitten then ran in a ball of flames before dropping to the ground at the end of the video.
