Another 4S centre up North for Proton

Proton adds another 4S centre to their name in the Northern Regions. By Jerrica Leong

Mercu Usaha Mesra Corporation (MUMC) has undergone a major upgrade moving from a two shop lot unit 1S centre to a 78,000sq.ft. land in Sungai Petani, Kedah to officially become 4S centre. This is the second 4S centre Proton has in the Northern region.

This move came around thanks to the Northern Region’s huge contributor in terms of sales and volume of Proton cars. Proton understands that producing good quality cars would not suffice if they fail to see the much needed improvements in their after-sales-services. Thus the upgrade to provide facilities such as sales, service, spare parts and spray or repairs in one roof.

The upgrades is also a means to combat the use of fake Proton parts in cars when customers choose to service their cars at unauthorised service centres. Installing fake parts would damage the car and compromise the safety of its occupants.

To date Proton has 270 service outlets nationwide with 16 outlets upgraded to 4S centres. Starting from 10 October 2014, 47 outlets will be open seven days a week whilst the rest of the outlets will follow suit by January 2015.
