Barely 24 hours after Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) apologised over the worst ever blackout in Sarawak, another blackout occurred in the state today.
The latest blackout occurred after a substation in the Taman Hijrah residential area in Petra Jaya caught fire.
Efforts to reach SEB for comments were futile at press time.
Yesterday, more than two million people in Sarawak were affected by a blackout resulting from tripped circuits at the Kemena-Bintulu transmission line at 5.40 pm.
Following that, SEB chief executive officer Torstein Dale Sjtveit had apologised for the inconvenience caused to the people of Sarawak and assured that a team to probe the cause of the blackout has already been set up.
