Another foetus found in sewage plant in Permatang Damar Laut
He added that the foetus had been sent to Penang Hospital.
A second foetus was found in the sewage plant at Taman Desa Wangsa, Permatang Damar Laut, near here, Monday, after the discovery of a male foetus at the same place, Sunday.
While the foetus found Sunday was still attached to its umbilical cord, the one discovered Monday was not fully formed and believed to be three to four months old.
Barat Daya district police chief, Supt Lai Fah Hin said the foetus was found at about 1pm by a worker cleaning the plant.
"Police believe the foetus was aborted before it was thrown into the toilet of a house in one of the housing estates," he said when contacted.
He added that the foetus had been sent to Penang Hospital.
"This is the second discovery of a foetus at the same plant, and it is rather difficult for police to detect those involved as the sewage in the plant is from several housing areas there," he said.
On Sunday, a fully-formed male foetus, believed to be about five months old, was found at about 5.30pm.
Lai urged the public with information connected to the two cases to contact the nearest police station to facilitate the investigation.
