There is at least another state after Kedah that is expected to see administration change to form the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
In hinting the possibility, UMNO Secretary-General Tan Sri Annuar Musa said what happened in Kedah was a process of strengthening politics so that all state governments could work in one team.
"It is part of PN's goal to strengthen politics and not stop as far as Kedah only, maybe one or two other states who want to follow Kedah (in changing government), we welcome government change to PN.
“The PN Government that has been formed, like (in) Perak, Johor, Melaka, it is working time. For Kedah it is to enter a new phase, the new MB (Menteri Besar) will be supported. The party that has not changed, has to be ready for us to change the work culture,” Annuar said when met here today.
The Federal Territories Minister also said that former Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir had been in office and serving for 23 months but his methods were unsuccessful in defending the Kedah Pakatan Harapan government.
In a similar development, Annuar said the appointment of Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as the new Kedah Menteri Besar was also discussed in the leadership of the Muafakat Nasional and PN.
Muhammad Sanusi, Annuar said, was the PN's consensus choice, adding that Pas' state seats in Kedah was more than any other party.
