Police will reveal the photos of the individuals believed to have roughed up several media personnels on duty during the May 1 anti-GST rally.
These individuals are also believed to have participated in the rally.
Kuala Lumpur chief of police, Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said that the police have received reports lodged by journalists, cameramen, and photographers.
These reports were made at the Dang Wangi police station on the day of the rally.
“There was a bit of a conflict between media personnel and protesters on that day. Several police reports were lodged following the incident,” said Mohmad during a press conference held on Tuesday.
He added that an investigation paper has been opened under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
“We have reviewed the video footages and photographs that we have and we may release a few pictures of the individuals involved, soon to facilitate investigations. This will be informed to the media later,” he said.
He also urged media personnel with footages of the incident to get in contact with the Kuala Lumpur police to aid investigation.
On May 1, a group of protesters who called themselves the 'Anarchy Regiment ' and 'Antifa' attacked a few media personnel who were on duty in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad building near Dataran Merdeka.
