KUALA LUMPUR:Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that he has the support of more than 120 Members of Parliament (MPs) to form a new government to replace the Perikatan Nasional government.
In a special press conference today, the Port Dickson MP said he had presented evidence in the form of statutory declarations (SD) and confirmation of the relevant party leaders to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong earlier today.
Anwar said he was informed by His Majesty that he needed time to confirm the validity of the documents, including holding meetings with political party leaders.
"I request all parties to give space to the Agong to carry out his responsibilities in accordance with the constitution, and also His Majesty 's discretion to review the documents and in one or two days, call the party leaders to confirm and also get the best input," he added.
Asked if he had made an agreement with any of the opposition MPs, including those with court cases, Anwar said he had no grudge against anyone.
"Number one, this is an inclusive government. I have no grudge against anyone. Secondly, I have repeatedly asserted that we are committed to institutional and judicial reforms.
"What I can emphasise is, I have no vendettas. But they must accept and undergo the justice process accordingly," he added.
Asked whether the support included former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's party, Anwar said: "The list will be released later".
However, Anwar repeated in the press conference that the government of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has fallen.
