Anwar to face his wife in PKR presidency fight

Member of Parliament (MP) for Permatang Pauh Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be facing his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the PKR presidency post in the party’s election in May.
Party elections director Datuk Johari Abdul announced this after the nominations was closed at 5pm today.
Meanwhile, six candidates will be contesting for the deputy president post including incumbent Azmin Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, Batu MP Tian Chua, PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Datuk K. Ramachandran and Murali Subramaniam.
There will be 16 candidates vying for the three vice president posts including Nurul Izzah Anwar, Fuziah Salleh, Mohd Rafizi Ramli and Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.
There will be a three-cornered fight for for the Youth chief post between Selangor Deputy Speaker Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Batu Caves assemblyman Amirudin Shari and former Youth vice-president Mohd Nazree Yunus.
Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is the incumbent for the Wanita chief's post, will be facing Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail in a straight fight.
A total of 78 candidates will contest the Central Leadership Council (SRC) of PKR and only 20 candidates will be elected.
