KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not list the names of MPs who allegedly supported him when he had an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara on Tuesday.
Comptroller of the Royal Household Istana Negara, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said Anwar only submitted the number of MPs that he claimed supported him but there were no names to strengthen his previous claim.
“In the session which lasted for about 25 minutes, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim submitted the number of Members of the Dewan Rakyat who were alleged to support him.
"However, he did not submit a list of names of members of the Dewan Rakyat to strengthen the allegation.
“In this regard, Al-Sultan Abdullah has advised Datuk Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim to abide by and respect the legal processes as enshrined in the Federal Constitution," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
