API reading in KL exceeds 200 late Saturday

At 11pm, the API reading in Batu Muda here was recorded at 213, according to the Department of Environment's (DOE) website.

Coming close to reaching the same level is Shah Alam in Selangor, which had a reading of 196.

In Negeri Sembilan, the API in Seremban is at 188 and 184 in Nilai, while Port Dickson has a reading of 166.

In Selangor, Port Klang's API is at 184, Petaling Jaya's reading is 181 while Banting is at 179.

The API reading in Putrajaya, meanwhile, has increased to 180 from 177 just an hour before.

In Malacca, the API in Bukit Rambai is at 167 while Malacca City is at 164.

The only other area which has an API reading of above 150 is Cheras (156) here.

Although the API level is increasing in many other areas, the numbers are still below 150.

An API reading between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and hazardous for 300 and above.
