A Bersatu Armada (Youth) member was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday to assist with former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman's missing cash probe.
MACC investigations director Datuk Norazlan Mohd Razali said the 27-year-old was detained at the MACC headquarters after recording his statement.
"He has been placed under remand for four days from today until Monday," he told Bernama.
On June 3, an Armada leader was detained by the MACC over the same probe.
Prior to this, the local media had reported on the loss of more than RM200,000 from Syed Saddiq's home.
In another development, Norazlan said the MACC had lodged a police report against the owner of the Facebook account 'Ulya Husamudin' over a post claiming that the MACC had political motives behind the investigation of several Armada executive council members.
He said the police report was lodged at the Putrajaya Police Headquarters today.
“This is a slanderous allegation, and I would like to reiterate that the MACC's investigation is not politically motivated but related to the case of an Armada leader's missing cash, and misappropriation of funds in Armada's account.
"I hope that all parties will stop any kind of speculation and provide cooperation to the MACC to complete the investigation," he said.
