'Arrest Tun Mahathir if he is the mastermind' - Saifuddin

Authorities have been urged to arrest Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad if he truly is the mastermind behind the allegations linking Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and the 1MDB scandal.

Former UMNO Supreme Council member, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said on his Twitter account today, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) should act swiftly and arrest Dr Mahathir if the allegations were true.

Yesterday, Najib had accused the former Prime Minister of masterminding allegations of wrongdoing regarding 1MDB against him as reported by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and Sarawak Report.

Najib said, Dr Mahathir had done so after he refused to bow down to the former premier’s request.

In a related development, Institute of the Malay World and Civilisation of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) principal research fellow, Prof Datuk Dr Teo Kok Seong urged Najib to prove those allegations.

He said, without proof, they will only prove to be baseless allegations.
