1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) president and group executive director Arul Kanda Kandasamy will be giving his statement to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Dec 1.
While 1MDB former president and CEO, Datuk Shahrul Azral Ibrahim will be giving his statement to the committee on Nov 25.
In confirming the matter, PAC chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin said letters calling both individuals to give their statements to the PAC have been sent out to them.
"f course they would need to furnish documents. They need to be ready. The procedures we carry out will be the same as the ones before this," he told reporters at Parliament lobby today.
When asked why PAC is not calling up businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, for the proceeding this time around, Hasan said Jho Low did not have a position in 1MDB.
"We will be calling up one by one. First Shahrul, then Arul. Jho Low has no position in 1MDB. We will follow the procedures that we’ve adhered to before this," he said.
Hasan added that the letters to PAC members, witnesses and the relevant ministries in calling for the meeting have been sent out today.
The PAC is scheduled to wrap up its investigation on 1MDB and table the report in the Dewan Rakyat before the current sitting is adjourned on Dec 3.
