NOT all children are fortunate enough to get what they dream of especially during the Hari Raya celebrations.
For instance, they want new outfits to be worn during the festive season, but some of them can't afford to own new clothes on Hari Raya, let alone one that is specially tailored for them.
Aware of this, non-governmental organisation Kengkawan Project had organised a pre-Ramadan program specifically to share Hari Raya happiness with a group of 'asnaf' (less fortunate) children.
The program which began on June 5th, aimed to provide an opportunity for the children to enjoy the Ramadan and Hari Raya in an 'extra special' way.
A total of 40 children from Yayasan Chow Kit were given the opportunity to have their very own tailor-made dresses for Hari Raya.
According to Kengkawan Project’s representative, Hasbullah Najib, the specially-made Hari Raya clothes brought so much fun for the children.
"This tailor-made Raya clothes is special because from the beginning of Ramadan, they will feel the excitement. We did measure them before fasting month, so they will be eager to fast during Ramadan while waiting for their clothes to be ready to wear," said Hasbullah.
For volunteers, the reaction shown by the children are priceless. Let’s see what the children feel about the program in the video below.
