Astro AWANI's Business Desk celebrates children with cerebral palsy

The CSR initiative organised by Astro AWANI's Bisnes Awani, involved the collaboration from parents of children with cerebral palsy and the Malaysian Advocates for Cebral Palsy (MyCP).

Astro AWANI's group editor-in-chief Suhaimi Sulaiman said initiatives such as this would help spread knowledge and understanding of cerebral palsy.

“Most of the time we are quite ignorant of cerebral palsy,”

“With more exposure like this, the public at large can prepare themselves on how they can interact and mingle and make the best out of life for everyone,” he said.

More than 200 guests were entertained with a variety of games and entertainment - from cooking to acting to ketupat weaving- the families had a ball of time at the event.

One of the most exciting activity the children and their parents participated were “Cabaran Dapur”, where they had to make delicious cornflake cookies with Celebrity Master Chef Malaysia, Chef Adu Amran.

The activities that were carried out during the event involved popular Malaysian celebrities such as Asmidar, Didi Astilla, and many more who got to know the children and their parents through the fun activities.

“Though they have disabilities, you can see from the activities that these kids can do things, you just need to give them the opportunity to do it and hopefully through training they can be independent in the future” said MyCP president Dr Sazlina Kamaralzaman.

The children were also serenaded by Arja Lee Juzzthin, and Iwere who performed their popular hits and Hari Raya songs for the excited children.

The children were not the only ones having fun, as parents dressed in their best baju Raya also got involved, their faces radiating with happiness from the fun activities and the gifts from CP supporters such as Karyaneka and Aeon.
