A timber lorry attendant was killed while its driver was injured in a mishap at KM 228.1 km of the East Coast Highway 1 (LPT1) Wednesday evening.
Indera Mahkota Fire and Rescue Station senior officer (Operations) Mohd Hilmi Kashfi Mat Zali said Azli Ngah, 37, died at the scene while the driver Ramlan Mat Amin, 48, was injured.
"The lorry was heading for Wakaf Tapai, Terengganu from Sri Jaya, Maran, Pahang when it skidded to the right in the 4.55 pm incident.
"The vehicle is believed to have ploughed into the road divider and entered the opposing lane before overturning, spilling its load in the middle of the highway," he said when contacted here today.
