Audi’s flagship Sportback coupe gets a refreshed

Audi has upgraded their A7 Sportback, now you get all the latest technologies and first-in-class items in this bigger Avant Coupe! The spacious five-door coupe that melds sporty appeal with the comfort of a sedan and functional benefits of an Avant (in layman terms: station wagon) has also received a few exterior refreshments.

Exterior refreshments include a striking new interpretation of Audi’s Singleframe Grille along with the latest interpretation of Audi’s iconic LED headlights with range adjustment and daytime running lights. The A7 Sportback wears 19-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels with a five-spoke V-design to enhance the car’s sporty nature.

Audi had described the A7 Sportback to have the space advantage of an Avant, measuring at 4.97metres, the interior will offer maximum space and comfort along with a total cargo space of 535-litre. Owners will get an Aluminium Delta dashboard inlay and a leather wrapped sports steering wheel to decorate the driver’s seat while all occupants in the car get to sit back and relax on Valcona leather seats.

The powertrain of the A7 Sportback has also been upgraded, under the bonnet now lay the latest 3.0-litre TFSI V6 petrol engine that powers the lightweight aluminium body to a 333bhp power output and 440Nm of torque from 2300rpm to 5300rpm. That powertrain will be mated to a seven-speed S Tronic transmission that drives the Quattro all-wheel-drive system to make that century sprint in 5.3 seconds. That is 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor!

The new A7 Sportback comes complete with an eight-inch LCD colour display that boasts the latest generation of the MMI navigation plus. The highlights include a graphics processor from Audi’s partner Nvidia and touchpad control which allows the driver to scroll and zoom on the touchscreen. The navigation uses Google Earth and Wi-Fi hotspot, or you can hook-up a Sim Card to make use of the LTE high-speed dataplan to connect to the internet. Passengers are entertained with the presence of the six-DVD changer connected to the 14 speaker Bose surround sound system.

As with all Audi models, the Audi A7 Sportback is fully equipped with an array of electronic and mechanical features to ensure efficiency, including a start/stop system with energy recuperation, parking aid plus with park display and reverse camera, an automatic rear spoiler that deploys at speeds above 130kph to improve air resistance and stability and the usual list of safety features like Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) which includes Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and a total of eight airbags.

The A7 Sportback will set you back RM625,900 with a choice of seven colours to choose from namely Glacier White, Ibis White, Floret Silver, Dakota Grey, Oolong Grey, Tornado Grey and Mythos Black.
