The Auditor-General (AG) will table its initial report on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), latest by June, to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The AG's office in a statement today stressed that the 1MDB report is its utmost priority.
On Monday, PAC chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said they will begin to probe into 1MDB on May 19 and will start the proceeding by calling Treasury's secretary-general Tan Sri Irwan Serigar Abdullah and Economic Planning Unit (EPU) director-general Datuk Seri Dr Rahmat Bivi Abdullah to give their statements.
PAC will call 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy and his predecessor Datuk Shahrul Ibrahim Halmi on May 26.
Shahrul had served as the CEO from March 2009 to March 2013.
1MDB issues continue to be in the news following the latest report on the purchase made by Lembaga Tabung Haji on a plot of land in the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) financial district, owned by 1MDB and valued at RM188.5 million.
