The police have detained Australian actress Eliza Szonert who allegedly abducted her son from former husband, Ashley Crick here on Dec 10.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa said the actress was nabbed when she turned up at a police station in Kuala Lumpur at 6pm yesterday, to have her statement recorded.
He told Bernama today that Szonert would be remanded until Thursday to facilitate investigations into abduction of the child and wrongful confinement.
On Dec 9, according to The Sydney Morning Herald report, Szonert who was accompanied by two men went to a restaurant in a mall here to see Crick before snatching her son and walking away, leaving Crick talking to the men who accompanied her.
