Up to 151 auxiliary police trainees at the Police Training Centre in Ayer Hitam, Jempol, suffered suspected food poisoning early today.
Eighteen of them were admitted to the Jempol Hospital and 133 others received outpatient treatment at the clinic of the centre, said Negeri Sembilan Health Department director Datuk Dr Zailan Adnan.
They suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea today, apparently from the chicken rendang which they had had for dinner yesterday, she said at her office, here.
Dr Zailan said 12 of the 18 warded trainees had been discharged from the hospital.
The department was trying to determine the cause of the food poisoning, she said.
The food which the trainees had consumed was prepared at the kitchen at the centre and not by any food caterer, she added.
