AWANI's studio director dies in accident

Astro AWANI's studio director, Ilancheliyan Adaikalam died in an accident involving a trailer at a roundabout in Segambut at approximately 2pm today.

Police confirmed that Ilan died at the scene and his body was claimed by his family members for burial arrangements.

Fondly known as Ilan, he has been involved in many major broadcasting events which included the coverage of Malaysia Airlines flights MH370 and MH17 incidents.

He was also a regular during the station's coverage of the annual abling of the budget.

Ilan, a pioneer at Astro started his career at the broadcasting company in 1996, prior his appointment as a studio director in 2007.

Ilan is survived by his wife.
