The next hearing will be on Feb 10, 2014.
Azizul appeared in court on Thursday with his lawyer, Jonas Tamm. Also present at the hearing were two of his family members from Malaysia and an officer from Tourism Malaysia.
The hearing for his wife, Shalwati Nurshal, will be conducted tomorrow.
Azizul and Shalwati have been detained since Dec 18, 2013 on accusations of abusing their children.
Sweden made illegal all forms of physical punishment children in 1979.
The couple's four children, aged 7, 11, 12, and 14, are now staying with a Swedish family after their parents were detained.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin who earlier met with the couple said they are well and have agreed that their children be transferred under the care of a Malaysian-Muslim family in Sweden.
