Azmin ready for dialogue with BN but not the unity government
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president Azmin Ali said he is ready to have a dialogue with the Barisan Nasional (BN) government for the future of the country.
However, Azmin stressed his willingness is not part of the unity government formation effort. The dialogue can be held with any party including the non-governmental organisation (NGO).
“I am ready to meet anyone for the development of this country. But I am not saying that I want to meet UMNO and form a unity government, which Utusan Malaysia might spin later,” said Azmin after the launch of the PKR Youth and Wanita Wings 9th National Congress here.
He said the exchange of thoughts among various parties including NGOs was important to further strengthen the stability of the economy and improve the administration.
Azmin was responding to questions by reporters on this cordial exchange of words between UMNO Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin via Twitter.
Khairy has previously invited youth from Pakatan Rakyat for a dialogue session.
Meanwhile Azmin added that Pakatan have to move forward to ensure the rights of the people are looked after. This includes having policy that will lessen the burden of the people from the economy, cost of living and fair development aspects.
“The party should also give room for the youth to become pioneers that will lead the country in the future.”
In his address speech, Azmin urged that PKR should not to allow the present atmosphere lead them to a stalemate or political impasse with unending disputes and conflict.
He said it was time for all parties need to have the moral courage to create political dialogue and engagement across the political divide.
