KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has asked the police to conduct an in-depth investigation into the helicopter crash incident in Taman Melawati, here today.
"A the time of the incident I was in Bukit Antarabangsa and was informed by the police that there was a helicopter crash.
"Shortly after that, I immediately rushed to the location," the Gombak member of parliament and Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry told reporters at the scene.
Azmin hopes that the family members of the victims involved in the accident will be patient in the face of this challenging situation.
He said the helicopter had crashed in an open area.
"Had it crashed in a residential area, it would have been a bigger incident because many residents live in Taman Melawati," he said.
In the noon incident today, two men were confirmed dead after two helicopters collided mid-air before one of them crashed in Taman Melawati and another landed in a nearby area.
