Baby boy found in children's playground tunnel in Slim River

An elderly woman has found a baby boy abandoned in a tunnel in a children's playground in Taman Pergola near Slim River today.

Muallim District Police chief Supt Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the 60-year-old woman found the baby who was still alive and with the umbilical cord still attached while working out at about 7am.

"The baby is male, fair-skinned and was found wrapped in a batik cloth," he said a statement here Sunday.

He said the baby was sent to the emergency ward of the Slim River Hospital for treatment and the incident had been referred to the Welfare Department. - BERNAMA
