A five-month-old baby died after being flung off a car in an accident at Km 110, Jalan Jerangau-Jabor near Ladang Espek Risda, Bandar Al Muktaffi Billah Shah, Dungun at midday on Friday.
Muhammad Ammar Mohd Sobri died of serious head injuries at the scene.
Dungun police chief, Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said the child was in the arms of his grandmother in the back seat when the car driven by his aunt spun out of control and overturned.
He said the aunt, Noor Aini Abu Bakar, 30, broke her left hand while the grandmother suffered facial injuries.
The boy's mother, Nor Asikin Abu Bakar, who was also in the car, suffered minor injuries, he said, adding that all the injured were sent to the Dungun Hospital for treatment.
