A badly decomposed body of a man was found floating in the Rajang River, near the Rh.Lat longhouse in Punan Sama, here.
The place is more than an hour's boat journey from Giam Bungan where the express boat "Kawan Mas" capsized and sank on May 28.
Belaga police chief, DSP Bakar Sebau said the man wore blue jeans with a leather belt and a red underwear.
He said passengers on an express boat passing through the place first saw the body at about 1pm. They then alerted the longhouse residents.
Bakar said the longhouse folk then stopped a passing search and rescue operation party comprising police, Fire and Rescue Department, Rela and Civil Defence Department personnel out on their daily surface search.
They then took the body to the Belaga health clinic. Bakar said it could not be ascertained whether the body belonged to a victim of the "Kawan Mas" boat tragedy.
Two passengers of the boat are still missing. One is a man identified as Maurice Ajan, 22, while the other is a woman, Roslin Jati, 44.
He advised people with any missing male relative to report and check with the Belaga police.
